Residential Generators
Can you really put a price on peace of mind? Your family’s security? Or the investment you’ve made in your property or business? KOHLER automatic backup power systems help ensure that the reliable electric power you need is only seconds away.
Critical systems need reliable power.
Just add them up - the critical systems and conveniences in your home that rely on electricity. Your heating and cooling system. Refrigerator, freezer, sump pump, well pump, and security system. Water heater, electric range, and garage door opener. Running a home office? Rely on your e-mail? Add three or four more items to the list. It’s amazing how much we rely on power – how vulnerable we are during a brief outage or devastating act of nature.
A full line of power systems to power and protect everything.
Whether it’s power to run critical systems in your home, protect a basement from flooding, or to supply every convenience and comfort, KOHLER has an automatic solution – from 8.5 kW to 100 kW – that matches your requirements.
Convenient and worry-free.
The components of a KOHLER backup power system include the generator, a transfer switch, a battery charger, and a distribution panel. The automatic transfer switch – the brain of your backup power system – continually monitors the utility power source for an interruption. If utility power fails, the transfer switch automatically starts the power system, transfers the electrical loads, and restores electricity to your home. When utility power resumes, the automatic transfer switch reverses the process. It returns the electrical load to the utility source, shuts down the generator, and resumes monitoring. It’s always standing guard.
There are two types of installation
configurations:
An Essential Loads Configuration
As shown above, the Essential Loads
Configuration
utilizes an independent distribution
panel to route electricity to the critical systems you’ve
preselected to receive power during an outage.
A Whole House Configuration
This simply routes power through your existing distribution panel, ensuring power deliveryto every electrical system and convenience in your home. Automatic Transfer The automatic transfer switch, installed inside or outside your home, exercises the generator weekly to keep it performing at peak efficiency.
